Yep! You read that right. Loose weight by eating more. But before you run off to your kitchen to start chowing all the food you can find there, just take some time to read through this.

Generally, people’s idea of loosing weight is to cutting down on the amount of food they consume daily or by taking a controlled fast. While that might work sometimes, it doesn’t most times because what most people trying to loose weight do is that they cut down the amount of food they eat without cutting down on the fatty food they consume.

Truth is you can eat less and still pick up considerable fat same way you can eat more and loose weight.

To loose weight by eating more is something people tend to stay away from because of its irony, however, there are amazing and surprising foods that you can incorporate into your food plan to achieve your weight-loss goal.

1. Whole Grains

This one is a must have and a must eat for anyone who really wants to shed some fat. Whole grains are rich in protein, fiber,vitamin B, antioxidants, iron, zinc, copper, and magnesium.

Due to its high nutrient density, whole grains have been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and some forms of cancer.

Not all foods described as whole grains that fill up the shelves of your favourite super market are really whole grains. Some of the foods that are whole grains include the following

  • Whole oats/oatmeal
  • Popcorn
  • Brown rice
  • Whole-grain barley
  • Whole-grain corn
  • Millet
  • Sorghum
  • 100% whole wheat flour

2. Leafy Greens

Leafy greens are an absolutely excellent addition to your weight loss diet. What makes leafy greens absolutely excellent is that aside being low in calories, they are also high in fiber. Consuming leafy greens is an incredible way to increase the amount of meal you eat without increasing your calorie intake.

Examples of leafy greens you can binge on are:

3. Yogurts

You weren’t expecting to see this one here right? I am sorry but Mr. Yogurt definitely made the list. What many people don’t know is that yogurts are actually low in fats and calories. (by yogurts, I mean real yogurts, not that stuff you buy along the road that is laden with sweeteners and preservatives)

As yogurts are rich in zinc, iodine, potassium and vitamin B5, they can help improve your digestive health, and combat against any potential bloating and excessive gas through the probiotics it contains.

4. Fruits

But I’ve already asked you to chow on leafy vegetables, when am I still pestering you on fruits? It is because they both play different roles in the body.

Most people know that fruits and vegetables are good for them, but they are not familiar with the differences between them and how to take advantage of that.

5. Water

This is going to be the sucker punch you never expected. How on earth can I ask you to take lots of water when you are trying to rid yourself of excess water?

The answer is very simple. The best way to loose water weight is to consume more water. You actually do not retain more water because you consume more water. On the contrary, your body tends to retain water when you don’t consume enough water. (it is your body’s mechanism to fight dehydration)

Drinking plenty of water also boosts your metabolism, cleanses your body of waste and acts as an appetite suppressant.
